Harley-Davidson announced today the official plans for joining up with Pope Benedict XVI in Rome next June to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the legendary motorcycle manufacturer. Riders and fans from around the world are making plans to congregate in Italy’s capital and the Vatican City for this most unique event.
Willie G. Davidson and his son, Bill, launched the official countdown to June 13-16, 2013 by presenting two commemorative motorcycle gas tanks to the Pope today for a blessing. These tanks are being signed by the Pope, Willie G, and Bill and will be mounted on two motorcycles. One bike will return to Milwaukee to be displayed at the Harley-Davidson Museum and the other will be auctioned to support the Good Samaritan Foundation. [more]
