Conservatives remind Romney of abortion pledge
A day after Mitt Romney downplayed his plans to fight abortion, social conservatives on Wednesday offered the Republican presidential nominee a not-so-subtle reminder of his pledge to do “everything in my power to cultivate, promote, and support a culture of life in America.”
The head of the anti-abortion group Susan B. Anthony List distributed an article Romney penned last summer vowing to prohibit federal funding for Planned Parenthood, while backing legislation that would “protect unborn children who are capable of feeling pain from abortion.” In the June 2011 article, Romney also expressed support for the reversal of Roe v. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court ruling that legalized abortion.
“We have full confidence that as president, Gov. Romney will stand by the pro-life commitments,” said Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. [more]

Florian, You appear to operate from such a mis-guided bias. Your snarky words tell far more about you than any candidate you tear apart.
He lives by a pro life creed and he appears to be more of a leader in getting the country back on fiscal track. Mitt, all the way!
Mitt augurs to be a WAR president — if he’s elected of course. That’s his POLICY, for which his staff would supply (phony) details in time to start a war within his first twelve months in office.
Meanwhile, to generate the necessary votes, Mormon Mitt may soon follow Newt Gingrich into the Roman Catholic Church, wife, kids and all. That could set him up for a run for pope.
Mitt is not a prolife kind of guy, hr is for abortions in case of rape or incest, he is for war, pro death penalty, and he is not for tightening up gun control. Seem like a culture of death kind of a guy to me.
No one is in favor of war, Tony, except a complete psychopath — get your head in the game.
But can you imagine being in favor of abortion of a poor innocent baby who is in his mothers womb because of a rape? Is this life not sacred too?
