Copycat ‘band’ disrupts Mass at Cologne cathedral
Three protesters disrupted Mass at the cathedral of Cologne, Germany on August 19, in a show of solidarity with members of a Russian punk band who had been sentenced to 2 years in prison for a similar demonstration.
Last week a Russian court convicted the members of Pussy Riot, a feminist band, for staging a protest concert in that city’s Orthodox cathedral. The German protesters—one woman and two men—called for the release of the Russian women.
Ushers escorted the protesters out of the cathedral. They may face criminal charges for disrupting a religious service.
Bishop Heiner Koch, an auxiliary of the Cologne archdiocese who was presiding at the Sunday Mass, asked the congregation to pray for the people of Russia.

Here we go again! Let’s bring up pedophile priests as if we haven’t had enough of this. The Catholic church has done more to protect children after this scandal than any other organization.
Florian, “Get a Life”!
Well now! Pedophile priests and protective, cover-up bishops disrupt Mass too. And it’s about time that they do time. That’ll give them lenty of time and opportunity to figure out what Pussy Riot is all about, if they can.
Florian; with friends like you, who needs enemies? Stop! beating up on the Church’s bishops and priests. How do you think a young innocent priest feels when subjected over and over again to this nasty ranting of people like you? How can we hope to attract young men to “Holy Orders”? It is time to offer suport to our young priests and the Church’s leaders and let the Church heal.
How do you think Innocent Muslims feel about being targeted as terrorist? I like how many people judge a group by the few “bad apples”, the pedophilic priest problem is not just that it happened, but that the church covered it up.
