Cardinal George speaks about cancer diagnosis
The cardinal spoke to reporters Friday during a gala celebrating his 15th anniversary as leader of the Archdiocese of Chicago.
The 75-year-old George says he expects to learn more about his condition early next week. After that he will hear from doctors about possible treatments and whether they might include chemotherapy. George survived bladder cancer six years ago.
He was asked how he felt upon learning he again had cancer. George replied that he thought he “had licked something” but that he didn’t and it wasn’t “a good feeling.”
Physically, he says he feels fine despite a little weakness after a biopsy.
