Katie Holmes Returns To Catholic Church During Divorce From Tom Cruise: Report
Five years after revealing that she had started to study Scientology, Katie Holmes has officially returned to the Catholic faith, registering as a parishioner at the Church of St. Francis Xavier in New York City.
“Everyone is thrilled to have Katie join us,” a member of the church’s choir told me. “She has not yet attended a service, but when she does she will be welcomed with open arms.”
The church, located on 16th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, is known for inclusive thinking and its welcoming of many gay and lesbian Catholics. Its mission statement indicates that the Roman Catholic Church parish “strives to be a prophetic, welcoming community, inclusive witness to the presence of Christ Jesus in our midst.” Its website proclaims that it is a respectful community, “where seekers and their questions are welcomed, where injustice is challenged, where the poor, the alienated and marginalized find a home, and where people are refreshed, reconciled and renewed.” [more]

Amen Jim!
I love you, brother Michael! May we lead this pack to Heaven. They are indeed a stiff-necked people, especially Recovering, Carl, and most especially Michael Joseph Francescone, a terrorist supporter.
Jim: Where do you come off?
What Katie does is her decision. No one has the right to tell another person what they have to do.
Dr. Sarah — wow, aren’t you a hypocrite. You tell me I have no right to tell Katie what to do — and yet you are telling me what I can (or can’t) do — i.e., that I can’t tell Katie what to do. Where on Earth did you get your degree? And, did you ever have a course in logic?
Good for Katie that she has returned to the true Faith.
But, she now needs to attend Mass at least every Sunday, but not receive Holy Communion until after going to Reconciliation.
Her new church doesn’t describe itself as a black & white, rules & regulations type of church.
Irrelevant, Recovering — you get God’s graces to the extent (taking into account extenuating circumstances) that we follow what God has prescribed. She still needs to go attend Mass at least every Sunday and go to Reconciliation before she can receive the Eucharist. Open your heart to the truth, Recovering; don’t open it to the truth that you prefer.
