God’s Garden–Inspiration from the Carmelite Friars of North America

The geographic Mount Carmel that we take our Carmelite name from is a mountain range along the Mediterranean in Israel. It is a green oasis surrounded by desert; hence, its name “Carmel,” which means “the Garden of God” in Hebrew. The metaphorical Carmel is a way of life, our disposition as we make our spiritual path up Mount Carmel. The images and insights presented here represent a small sampling of what has bloomed in “God’s Garden” over the course of our 800-year existence. Welcome to our Carmelite garden; we hope you are nourished by what grows here and invite you to comment and share it with others.

  1. Jean says:

One night I had the vision of our Lady of Mount Carmel holding the baby Jesus in her arms and she said to me I am the Immaculate Conception and I am the cure.I cure all ills even cancer and aids.I invite all humans in my house and eternal banquet but the gay first.I will protect all gay who wear my brown scapular. She gave me her son jesus and she left with these words..Here is wisdom,I am understanding and science dwells in me..”finding wisdom through living”.God is a power and life is a response.Peace on earth!
