NY Times Bestselling author and Colbert Report chaplain Fr. James Martin SJ sat down (via skype) to discuss his new book about humor and the spiritual life “Between Heaven and Mirth” with CathNews USA’s Bill McGarvey. See the video clips below and make sure you enter our contest (here) in which we are giving away three (3) copies of the book as well as the chance at our Grand Prize in which the winner will also receive a personal phone call or skype video call (approximately 15 minutes) from Fr. Martin in which he will tell his favorite Catholic joke of all time (individual winners can also include their book/church group in the call).  There is no limit to how many times you enter to win. Winners will be chosen by random drawing on Tuesday November 22 (see details here for how to enter).

  1. John Price says:

The parish secretary typed up the Sunday service sheet. She accidentally left out the “g” in Agnus Dei. We discovered it 10 minutes before the mass. When we got to the Agnus Dei, there was uproarious laughter. I was so proud of my congregation of proofreaders! True story!

  2. There should be more priests like Fr. Martin. We are lucky to have a humorous pastor and he brings such life to the parish all the while bringing people closer to God.
